Who we are

BeFinFluent ("we", "us", "our") operates https://befinfluent.co.uk. For UK GDPR purposes, we're the data controller for the personal data described below. You can contact us at hello@befinfluent.co.uk.

What we collect, and why

• Your email address, when you buy a product or claim a free one. Used to send your download link and, if needed, to sort out a problem with your order (e.g. a corrupted file or a lost link). Legal basis: necessary to fulfil our contract with you.
• Payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe — we never see or store your card number, expiry date, or CVC.
• Your email address, if you sign up to the newsletter. Used only to send you new articles and tools. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• The text of any question you submit through the "got a follow-up question?" prompt on an article. This is anonymous by design — no email address or other identifier is attached — and is used only to decide what to write about next.
• Standard web server logs (e.g. IP address, browser type) collected automatically by our hosting provider, Vercel, as part of serving the site securely. We don't currently run any analytics or tracking tool on top of this — if that changes, we'll update this policy first.

Cookies and local storage

We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. The site uses your browser's local storage for one thing: remembering that you've closed the newsletter pop-up, so it doesn't keep reappearing. This stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Who we share it with

• Stripe (payment processing) — Stripe's own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment details.
• Supabase (database and secure file storage) — stores order records and hosts the product files, hosted in the EU.
• Resend (email delivery) — sends your download link and, if you subscribe, the newsletter, via infrastructure hosted in the EU.
• Vercel (web hosting) — serves the site itself.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK/EEA (for example, in the US) under their own data protection safeguards. We don't sell your data to anyone, and we don't share it for advertising purposes.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as required for accounting and tax purposes (normally up to 6 years). Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Questions submitted anonymously aren't linked to you and are kept indefinitely for content planning, since there's no personal data to delete.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or restrict the personal data we hold about you, or ask for a copy in a portable format, at any time by emailing hello@befinfluent.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add a new tool or service. We'll update the date at the top when we do.
